A Scholarship with a Purpose:
Clint Sargent Scholarship. A Legacy
Beyond the Diamond
The SARG27 Scholarship Foundation and Scholarship is being started with a generous donation by Luke and Amy Norden on behalf of Clint Sargent, Coach Torve, Patty Ploof, and the Post 22 organization.
The Clint Sargent Scholarship is a tribute to a man whose life is a testament to the power of baseball to shape character and drive success beyond the baseball diamond. It is a testament to the values Clint exemplified as a dedicated athlete, respected professional, and compassionate human being.
This scholarship aims to recognize and support baseball players (from Rapid City Post 22 and Mitchell Baseball Association) who embody the principles Clint learned as a young baseball player: discipline, hard work, selflessness, and integrity. It serves as a reminder that the lessons learned and relationships made on the baseball field for a few short years are invaluable for navigating life’s successes and challenges in various endeavors both personally and professionally and helping to give back to others.
It is the hope this scholarship will inspire and support future generations — reminding them that true success is measured not just by accomplishments, but by the character and values that guide them, selfless acts, for the betterment of others, and building lifelong relationships. The lessons learned on the baseball field are crucial to achievements in life and through this scholarship, those values will be recognized and encouraged in others for generations to come.
